I pay my respects to the Bidjigal people, and acknowledge their ongoing care and nurturance of the lands on which I live and work. This is, was, and always will be Aboriginal land.
Ellen O’Brien
Ellen (she/her) is a writer and editor living on Bidjigal land.
Over the past 7 years, Ellen has worked as a community lawyer, writer, editor, researcher and facilitator. From 2018 to 2019, Ellen was a facilitator for the Feminist Killjoys Reading Group based on Darug land. She has also conducted research for It's a Long Story, a podcast produced at the Sydney Opera House as part of the Talks and Ideas program; worked as a junior editor at the Sydney Review of Books; and worked as a project officer for The Writing Zone program at Western Sydney University.
Ellen has had her writing published in Sydney Review of Books, Meanjin, The Big Issue, Kill Your Darlings, Overland, Cordite, Rabbit and un Magazine. To see a full list of publications, click here.
